Selah is a Bible journal made by Johan Jimenez.
Your journal stays on your device. Journal entries, photos, check-ins and personal prayers are stored on your iPhone (and in your own iCloud, if you use iCloud backup). They are never sent to us.
Verse suggestions and citations are made on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device language tools. Your writing is not sent anywhere to do this. Selah learns which verses you mean from what you tap; that stays on your iPhone (not even in backups) and is erased by "Delete all my data". If you agree to "Help improve verse recognition", Selah sends an anonymous summary every couple of weeks: which verses were suggested and whether they fit, and only words from those verses themselves. Never your writing, and not linked to you or your account. You can turn this off in Settings.
Weather. Selah uses your approximate location, on your device, to show the weather through Apple WeatherKit. We don't store your location.
Prayer circles (optional). If you join a prayer circle, you sign in with Apple. We store your name, an account ID, the circles you belong to and the prayer requests you choose to share, so the other members can see them. If you send someone a prayer (written, or a voice recording), only that person and you can read or hear it. To send prayer alerts (for example "your circle is praying now"), we store your phone's notification address and which alerts you chose. This is stored with our database provider, Supabase. You can delete your account and everything you shared, including recordings, at any time in Selah's Settings → Delete prayer circles account.
Prayer gifts (optional). If you send a prayer as a gift, it is stored with Supabase under a long, private link. Anyone you give the link to can open it and pray back; the sender sees those replies. The sender can take a gift back at any time, and can choose for it to disappear after 30 days.
Purchases are handled by Apple. We don't see your payment details.
